Elm Ridge has a strong committment to our community and clients.  We participate in, raise funds and awareness for, and even initiate several community service projects.  Our entire staff enjoys meeting our current and future clients, and helping out our great little town.  Our current service projects include:

Science for Life ! Improving life science and animal  education in our local schools and libraries.  Upcoming events include our "For the Love of Animals" Book Drive and Library Display at the Canal Fulton Library in August, and a Scrabble / Eucher Tourney in September.

Wildlife and Stray Help Fund: The WASH Fund is used to cover the costs of treating wildlife and strays, and assisting animal rescue groups. We also use this fund to assist our clients during emergencies or family tragedies.  Our clients generously support this fund by purchasing our signature "Baby's Coffee" from Key West, giving donations, and supporting our fundraising events, like the upcoming "Furry Family Fun Day", August 9, at Crystal Lake Golf Course.

"For Pat" Our fundraiser on August 9 is also to raise funds to donate to the family of our dear friend Pat Fouts, that passed away in March.  There wouldn't even be an Elm Ridge without Pat and her daughter Sherry.  Her protracted illness of course was financially a hardship for her family, and her way-too-young departure left this world a littler sadder place to be.  Her husband, however, wants the funds to be used to help our clients in need, when their animals are ill and they are struggling to afford the treatments.  He says that all the years that Pat worked at the emergency clinic with Dr. Butera, that the one thing that bothered her the most were the many clients that had to decide on euthanasia  based on cost.  Pat was indeed that caring, and that is why we all loved her so much.  Whenever we can, we try to do a good deed "For Pat", and we will honor her husband's wishes whenever we can. Help us by attending our fundraisers.  To Pat, our clients were just like her family.  If we ever fail in reaching the high standard she set for us, just kick us in the shins and wake us up, just like she would have done.  (We miss you, Pat-- you crazy lady.  We hope your are keeping God in line up there and are riding Secretariat every day.)
